Mumbai, the muse of many artists, has done it again. It has inspired the world renowned Atkins Design Studio to design an architectural marvel, the Namaste Tower, as a tribute to the mega city. The stunningly designed tower which aims to become a landmark is being planned for The W Hotel, a new luxury hotel coming up in the city.
Designed like the clasped hands of a Namaste, the tower is a tribute to Mumbai and India, and it’s growing economic and cultural influence on the world. Namaste which loosely translated means “I bow to you” signifies how one can let go of one’s ego and treat all alike. It is also a symbol of Indian hospitality.
The Nasmaste Tower will have 2 wings shaped liked clasped hands coming together. And as if that wasn’t beautiful enough, the designers have created intricate mehendi like motif sall across the exterior of the building in true Indian fashion, just like a hands folded in invitation. If the designs are anything to go by, it will surely be a breath taking structure.
The Namaste Tower will have 62 storeys and will house of a hotel, office and retail space. The gorgeous tower is under construction right now and aims to be ready by the end of 2013 or early 2014.
